Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of KantanPDF (the “App”), provided by PRIZM_KR (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What the App Does

KantanPDF lets you select photos or files, scan pages with the camera, reorder pages, choose paper and layout options, generate PDFs locally, preview them, and print or share them using iOS services.

The App does not provide cloud storage, document recovery, legal certification, digital signatures, optical character recognition, or a guarantee that output will meet a particular institutional, archival, accessibility, or printing standard.

3. License and Apple Terms

The App is licensed, not sold. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the App Store Usage Rules.

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with mandatory Apple terms or applicable law, those terms or laws control to the extent of the conflict.

4. Free and Premium Features

KantanPDF offers Free access and an optional Premium unlock:

• Free: One lifetime PDF creation of up to 10 pages, one custom preset, supported basic layouts, and standard output quality.
• Premium: A one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks unlimited PDF creation, unlimited presets, additional layout and image-fit options, and higher output quality.

Exact features are shown in the App before purchase. We may improve or adjust features over time, but we will not intentionally convert a completed one-time Premium purchase into a recurring subscription.

5. Purchases, Restoration, and Refunds

• Premium is purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system and charged to your Apple ID account.
• KantanPDF does not offer a recurring subscription unless the App Store listing and purchase screen are expressly changed to say otherwise.
• You may restore an eligible purchase using the same Apple ID, subject to Apple’s rules and technical availability.
• Apple processes payments and refund requests. We do not receive card details and cannot directly issue App Store refunds.
• Prices, taxes, currency, family sharing eligibility, and storefront availability are determined by Apple and your region.

6. Your Documents and Responsibilities

You retain ownership of the photos, scans, files, and PDFs you use or create. You are responsible for:

• Having the rights and permissions needed to use, reproduce, convert, print, or share your source content;
• Checking the accuracy, completeness, order, orientation, margins, image quality, and print result of each PDF;
• Keeping backups of important source files and exported PDFs; and
• Protecting confidential or sensitive documents on your device and at any destination to which you export them.

The App processes documents locally and does not provide a developer-operated backup or recovery service. Deleting the App may remove locally stored PDFs, presets, history, and settings.

7. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Use the App to violate law, privacy, confidentiality, copyright, trademark, or other rights;
• Create, distribute, or facilitate unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or deceptive material;
• Bypass purchase restrictions, entitlement checks, security controls, or usage limits;
• Reverse engineer, modify, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially resell the App except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
• Interfere with the App, Apple services, or another person’s device or data.

8. Intellectual Property

The App’s software, design, text, graphics, branding, and other materials, excluding your content and third-party open-source components, are owned by PRIZM_KR or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the App to you.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how KantanPDF handles local documents, permissions, purchase information, retention, and sharing.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on Apple services such as the App Store, in-app purchase, Camera, Photo Library, Files, printing, and the Share Sheet. Services or apps you choose as export destinations are operated by their respective providers and may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.

11. Updates and Availability

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the App, address security or legal requirements, maintain compatibility, or comply with App Store rules. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device, printer, file, or future operating system, or permanent availability in every storefront.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App or any PDF will be error-free, loss-free, fit for a particular purpose, accepted by a third party, or printed exactly as shown on screen.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded in your country or region.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PRIZM_KR will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost documents, lost profits, failed submissions, printing costs, disclosure caused by a destination you selected, or reliance on App output.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount you paid for the App or Premium, unless applicable law requires a different remedy.

14. Termination

You may stop using and delete the App at any time. Your license terminates automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and responsibility for your content, will survive.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not limit any mandatory consumer protection rights or jurisdiction available to you under the laws of your place of residence.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, law, or platform rules. We will post the revised Terms at this URL and update the date above. Your continued use of the App after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law.
