1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Spill ("the App"), or by sending a message through a Spill web link, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App or send messages through Spill links.

2. Description of Service

Spill is a messaging platform that allows users to:

• Create a personal link to receive messages
• Share that link on social media platforms
• Receive messages from anyone with the link
• View sender hints (device, location, network, referral source) with PRO
• Block and report abusive senders

Spill consists of a mobile app (for message recipients) and a web page (for message senders). Senders do not need to install the app.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• Accounts are created without requiring email, phone number, or personal information
• You choose a unique username that becomes part of your public Spill link
• Your account is tied to a session on your device

• You may change your username within the app
• Usernames that impersonate others, contain offensive content, or violate these Terms may be removed

4. Free vs. PRO Features

4.1 Free Features

• Create your Spill link and share it anywhere
• Receive unlimited messages
• Push notifications for new messages
• Block senders
• Report inappropriate messages
• 7 languages supported

4.2 PRO Features (Lifetime Purchase)

• Sender device type hints (e.g., iPhone, Samsung, Pixel)
• Sender approximate location hints (city & country)
• Sender network/carrier hints
• Sender referral source hints (e.g., Instagram, TikTok)
• All future PRO features included

5. In-App Purchase Terms

5.1 Purchase Option

• Spill PRO — Lifetime: One-time purchase of $19.99 for permanent PRO access

Price may vary by region and is subject to change without notice.

5.2 Purchase Terms

• This is a one-time purchase, NOT a subscription
• PRO access is permanent and does not expire
• No automatic renewals or recurring charges
• Purchases are tied to your Apple ID
• You can restore purchases on any device using the same Apple ID

5.3 Refund Policy

• All purchases are processed by Apple and are final
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies

• We cannot process refunds directly

6. Message Content and Conduct

6.1 For Message Senders

By sending a message through Spill, you agree NOT to send:

• Hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory content
• Threats of violence or encouragement of self-harm
• Sexually explicit or pornographic content
• Spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotions
• Personal information of others (doxxing)
• Content that violates any applicable laws
• Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
• Any other objectionable content

6.2 Automated Content Filtering

Spill employs automated content filtering that blocks messages containing harmful content in 7 languages (English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, German, French, Spanish). Messages that trigger these filters will be rejected.

6.3 Message Limits

• Messages are limited to 200 characters
• Empty messages cannot be sent

6.4 Content Moderation and Enforcement

We are committed to maintaining a safe environment:

• 24-hour response: All content reports are reviewed and acted upon within 24 hours
• Content removal: Objectionable content is removed promptly upon review
• User ejection: Users who provide objectionable content will have their access terminated
• Automated filtering: Harmful content is blocked automatically before delivery
• User controls: Recipients can block senders and report messages at any time

6.5 For Message Recipients

As a message recipient, you can:

• Block senders: Block any sender with one tap. Blocked senders will not know they are blocked — their messages will appear to send successfully but will not be delivered
• Report messages: Report messages as spam or harassment. Reporting automatically blocks the sender
• Delete messages: Delete individual messages or all messages at any time

7. Sender Hints and Privacy

7.1 What Sender Hints Show

PRO users can see approximate, non-identifying information about message senders:

• Device type (e.g., "iPhone", "Samsung Galaxy")
• Approximate location (city and country level)
• Network or internet provider name
• Which social media platform the sender came from

7.2 What Sender Hints Do NOT Show

• Sender's name, email, or phone number
• Sender's social media username or profile
• Sender's exact address or GPS coordinates
• Sender's IP address (used internally only, never shown to recipients)

7.3 Sender Acknowledgment

By sending a message through Spill, you acknowledge that the recipient may see approximate device, location, network, and referral source information about your message. This information is derived from your browser's user agent and IP address. Your identity is never revealed.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

• Use Spill for any illegal activities
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Attempt to identify senders beyond what Sender Hints provide
• Use automated tools or bots to send messages
• Attempt to hack, exploit, or compromise Spill's servers or infrastructure
• Circumvent content filters or sender blocking
• Circumvent PRO feature restrictions
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Resell the App or its features
• Use Spill to collect personal information about others

9. Intellectual Property

• The Spill name, logo, and app design are the property of Prizm
• You retain ownership of messages you send
• You may not use Spill's branding without written permission

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of Spill is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes:

• What data we collect and how we use it
• How sender metadata is processed
• Third-party services we integrate with
• Your rights regarding your data

11. Third-Party Services

Spill integrates with:

• Apple App Store: App distribution and payment processing
• Supabase: Database and authentication
• RevenueCat: In-app purchase management
• Expo Push Notifications: Push notification delivery
• ip-api.com: IP geolocation for sender hints

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

Spill is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Accuracy of sender hints (location, device, network data is approximate)
• Completeness of content filtering (no filter catches everything)
• Message delivery or preservation

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are NOT liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• We are NOT liable for the content of messages sent through Spill
• We are NOT liable for emotional distress caused by messages received
• We are NOT responsible for the accuracy of sender hints
• We are NOT responsible for data loss due to account deletion or app uninstallation
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for in-app purchases (if any)

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prizm and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Messages you send through Spill
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any applicable laws

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Posting the new Terms at this URL

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Spill if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Send abusive, harmful, or illegal content
• Attempt to compromise the App's security or infrastructure
• Abuse the reporting or blocking features

You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App. Note that your account and messages cannot be recovered after uninstallation.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Korea.
