1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using IslandMates ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not
use the App.
2. Description of Service
IslandMates is a shared virtual pet app that allows users to:
- Choose and care for a virtual pet
- Feed, play with, and put the pet to sleep
- Use Dynamic Island and Lock Screen Live Activity features on supported iPhones
- Connect with a partner using a 6-digit code
- Share one pet room with a connected partner
- Send short messages and emotion signals to a connected partner
- Earn XP, complete missions, build streaks, and unlock customization items
- Customize the pet with characters, accessories, tints, themes, and name tags
Some features require an IslandMates+ subscription.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use IslandMates.
- If you are under the age of majority in your country or region, you may use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- You are responsible for complying with the laws and rules that apply to you.
4. Accounts and Room Access
4.1 Anonymous Accounts
IslandMates uses anonymous authentication. We do not require an email address, phone number, or real name to use the App. Your account is associated with an anonymous user ID generated for
the App.
4.2 Partner Rooms
- A partner room lets two users share one virtual pet.
- Rooms are created or joined using a 6-digit code.
- Once connected, both users may see shared pet state, partner actions, messages, emotions, timeline entries, and other shared room activity.
- Either partner may leave the room.
- If a room is deleted or disconnected, shared room features may stop working for both users.
4.3 Reinstalling or Changing Devices
Important: Account and Room Recovery
Because IslandMates uses anonymous accounts, reinstalling the App or changing devices may create a new anonymous user ID. If your partner is still connected to the room, you may be able to
request re-entry using the room code and partner approval. If both partners uninstall the App, change devices, or lose access at the same time, the room may not be recoverable.
5. Free and IslandMates+ Features
5.1 Free Features
- Choose from available pet characters
- Feed, play with, and put your pet to sleep
- Use basic Dynamic Island pet display on supported iPhones
- Use daily mood check-ins and streaks
- Progress through basic pet care features
5.2 IslandMates+ Features
- Partner connection using a 6-digit code
- Shared pet care with real-time sync
- Partner messages on Dynamic Island and Lock Screen Live Activity
- Partner action notifications
- Additional customization features such as accessories, tints, themes, and name tags
- Ongoing IslandMates+ feature updates
We may add, remove, modify, or limit features over time. Some features may depend on device support, iOS version, network availability, notification permissions, Live Activity permissions, or
third-party services.
6. Subscription Terms
6.1 Subscription Options
IslandMates+ is available as an auto-renewable subscription. Available plans may include:
- Monthly subscription
- Yearly subscription
Prices may vary by country or region and may change from time to time.
6.2 Billing and Renewal
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
- Deleting the App does not automatically cancel your subscription.
6.3 Partner Sharing
One IslandMates+ subscription may unlock shared partner features for both users while they are connected in the same room. This sharing only applies while the room connection remains active
and may stop if the room is disconnected, deleted, or no longer meets the subscription requirements.
6.4 Purchase Restoration
You may restore purchases using the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, subject to Apple and RevenueCat purchase validation. Restoring a subscription does not guarantee recovery of
a previous anonymous room or pet state.
6.5 Refunds
- All purchases are processed by Apple.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.
- We cannot issue refunds directly.

7. User Content and Conduct
7.1 User Content
IslandMates may allow you to create or send content such as pet names, short messages, emotion signals, and other customization choices ("User Content"). You are responsible for the User
Content you create, send, or display through the App.
7.2 Partner Messages
- Messages are intended for your connected partner only.
- Messages may appear in the App, on Dynamic Island, on Lock Screen Live Activity, and in push notifications.
- You should not send sensitive personal information through the message board.
- Your connected partner may see, save, or screenshot messages displayed on their device.
7.3 Prohibited Content
You agree not to create, send, or display content that:
- Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or hateful
- Contains sexually explicit, pornographic, or exploitative material
- Encourages violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
- Contains spam, scams, unsolicited promotions, or malicious links
- Impersonates another person or misrepresents your relationship with someone
- Violates another person's privacy or intellectual property rights
- Contains personal information of others without permission
- Interferes with the operation, security, or integrity of the App
Objectionable Content
IslandMates has no tolerance for objectionable, abusive, illegal, or harmful content. We may remove content, restrict features, disconnect rooms, suspend access, or take other appropriate
action if these Terms are violated.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the App for illegal, abusive, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
- Attempt to access another user's room without permission
- Share invite codes in a way that causes harassment or misuse
- Use bots, scripts, automation, or scraping tools
- Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or attempt to extract source code from the App
- Bypass subscription restrictions, unlock rules, or security protections
- Interfere with Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple services, APNs, or other infrastructure used by the App
- Use the App to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App without permission
9. Dynamic Island, Live Activities, and Notifications
- Dynamic Island and Live Activity features require supported iPhone hardware and iOS support.
- Live Activities and notifications may require user permission.
- Delivery, display, timing, and availability may be affected by iOS settings, Focus mode, Low Power Mode, network conditions, Apple system behavior, and device compatibility.
- We do not guarantee that notifications, Live Activities, or Dynamic Island updates will always appear or arrive instantly.
10. Intellectual Property
- The IslandMates name, logo, characters, artwork, design, software, and related materials are owned by Prizm or licensed to Prizm.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the App without permission.
- You retain responsibility for User Content you submit, but you grant us the limited right to process, display, transmit, and store it as needed to operate the App.
- You may not use IslandMates branding without written permission.
11. Privacy
Your use of IslandMates is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it, how third-party
services process data, and how you may contact us about your data.
12. Third-Party Services
IslandMates uses third-party services to operate the App:
- Apple App Store: App distribution, subscriptions, and payment processing
- Supabase: Anonymous authentication, database, realtime sync, and server functions
- RevenueCat: In-app purchase and subscription management
- Apple Push Notification service: Push notification delivery
Your use of the App may also be subject to the terms and policies of these services.
13. Disclaimers
IslandMates is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Pet state, messages, XP, missions, or timeline entries will always sync instantly
- Notifications or Live Activities will always be delivered or displayed
- Partner rooms or anonymous accounts will always be recoverable after reinstalling, changing devices, or deleting the App
- The App will meet your expectations or be available on every device, iOS version, country, or region
14. No Medical or Emergency Use
IslandMates may include mood check-ins or emotional expressions for entertainment and personalization. The App does not provide medical, mental health, therapeutic, emergency, or professional
advice. Do not rely on the App for medical decisions, crisis support, or emergency communication.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for loss of data, messages, pet progress, room access, subscription sharing, or app availability
- We are not responsible for User Content sent by you or your partner
- We are not responsible for failures caused by Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, network providers, device settings, or other third-party services
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for IslandMates+ during the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prizm and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the App
- Your User Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of applicable law or third-party rights
17. Termination
You may stop using IslandMates at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the App if we believe you violated these Terms, misused the App, created
risk for other users, or caused harm to our service or third-party services.
Termination may result in loss of access to rooms, messages, progress, pet state, or shared features. Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions must
be canceled through your Apple ID account settings.
18. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and
post the revised Terms at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Korea, unless applicable law requires
otherwise.

Remember:
- IslandMates uses anonymous accounts, so room recovery may be limited after reinstalling or changing devices
- One subscription may cover both partners only while connected in the same room
- Dynamic Island, Live Activities, and notifications depend on iOS, device support, permissions, and system behavior
- Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription
